I was saddened to hear of the passing of my old friend and former drummer for the Freddy Dixon Show, Dewey Martin. He was also a former drummer with the Buffalo Springfield.
Dewey played for me in the late 70′s for a year and a half. I had just recently talked to him in LA last month. He sent me a CD that he had recorded with Elvis Presley’s band in Las Vegas in the late 60′s. It contained an unreleased cut of “Great Balls Of Fire” that rivals Jerry Lee Lewis’s version.
We are planning a tribute and celebration of his life sometime in early April in Smith Falls. Keep posted for details.
I will miss my old friend. He is now playing with the Big Rocker in the sky
